TITAN is finally launched! Those of you who have visited us at our offices will probably have seen her under construction over the last few years. We had a tense couple of hours when the crane extracted the boat from the workshop. It all went well and she finally felt her first touch of seawater on the 16th March. I hope you will all be joining us in celebrating her launch and our 10th birthday party on Friday 7th April.

YES we are 10 years old. It's been an exciting 10 years with lots of changes over the years but for the most part 'the more things change the more they stay the same'. It's heartening to still be 60% the original core team. The fact that we started the business with only 3 people of course has something to do with this. Over the years though, others who worked with us at the original TITAN BUSINESS SYSTEMS have joined us and we are now a team of 11. We have worked well together over the years and we know each other extremely well. We've been through a lot together and are a family now having seen marriages; births of our children, our grandchildren, and deaths of some of our loved ones.

It's especially heartening to have a lot of our original clients still with us. You have become like family too! We hope you'll enjoy the next 10 years with us.

Do not be desirous of having things done quickly. Do not look at small advantages. Desire to have things done quickly prevents their being done thoroughly. Looking at small advantages prevents great affairs from being accomplished.

POSTCODER

The post office offers a service to validate your addresses before any bulk postings. They send a download file either on disk or via the Internet, which we could import into TITAN. This download costs approximately R100 per year for a quarterly update. Using their validation routine gives you the benefit of saving between 14c and 30c per item. If any clients are interested in sharing the cost of developing the changes required to TITAN to cater for this please advise us.

 

PROJECTS IN DEVELOPMENT

JOB COSTING

We are adding the ability to selectively invoice partially completed jobs directly from Job Costing via Sales Order Processing into Accounts Receivable and Sales Analysis.

INVENTORY/BILL OF MATERIALS

We will be able to create a generic product in the Bill and to link multiple products to this generic product. This will cater for issuing from one raw material product but receipting the generic product into production.

INSTALMENT SALES

The ability to calculate finance charges on new invoices or to optionally change the finance charges on a range of invoices and re-calculate the principal debt and the instalments.
